Continuous intake of sugary beverages daily brings about disorders like obesity. Globally, 184,000 deaths were reported that were associated with sugary beverage consumption. Cancers, cardiovascular disorders, and type 2 diabetes are thought to be linked with drinking more soft drinks. To avoid these issues, sugar was substituted with artificial sweeteners, which have low to no calories at all. But their effect on human health is still unknown. In the US, higher all-cause deaths were found to be connected with sugary and artificially sweetened soft drinks. A positive correlation was noted between total beverage consumption and heart disease. Little is known about the impact of soft drink consumption on other long-term disorders such as cancer, neurodegenerative syndromes, and digestive tract diseases.
