Does civic honesty persist when money is at stake?

Honesty is important to lead a virtuous life. Without this virtue, promises are not kept, contracts go wrong, people don’t pay taxes and governmental corruption is elevated. Corruption leads to economic disruption in the country. Civic honesty means human beings refrain from taking advantage of a situation that benefits them but harms the others. Usually, when some monetary and materialistic motives are involved, civic honesty is challenged. This could be the initial cause of dishonesty and corruption. This study was conducted to determine that do people practice civil honesty when monetary benefits are involved encouraging dishonesty.
