Researchers combined nitrate observations from autonomous ocean profiling floats with a Southern Hemisphere dust simulation to understand this relationship. They aimed to quantify how dust-iron affects the annual net community production (ANCP) in the iron-limited Southern Ocean, both currently and during the last glacial maximum (LGM).
